The Easterling Captain looks good so far :) Is your next project another Gondor ruin? :?:

Excellent work again! Everything looks great, but I especially like the Mumak, Gothmog, the Balrog and the Easterling conversions. The light effect on Gothmog looks okay, but it's hard to tell from a picture. Honestly, I wouldn't have recognized the grass as burning. I love the idea though! Very fitting indeed! Maybe sculpting some small flames at the back of the base would help with recognizing it. Here's a great article on making fire: http://thelastalliance.com/wordpress/wp ... -Earth.pdf
The Balrog looks great too! Amazing painting there. Love the very bright parts. It also looks realistic. :)

I think the WIP terrain is probably a bridge (possible the bridge of Osgiliath with 2 statues in the middle).

Close but that's not it.

Nope. Though I'm curious to see what this bridge looks like as I'm not sure which one that is. ;)

How about more WIP shots of the terrain? :P

Again, the Easterlings are for scale. They're actually supposed to be attacking, not defending. :D

Oh, of course, it's Minas Tirith!

The piece first reminded me of the old BGiME Osgiliath Bridge. Don't know if you saw it back then, but I can't find an image on the internet either..

Anyway, keep it up!

There it is! It's the walls of Minas Tirith!

And here are more pictures of progress. :D

Here I was unsure of how to put this together as you'd have the wall be in the way and then a gap on top.
The I figured it out that you needed to turn the thing upside down! :? Go figure.

It fits! :D

I have more progress! :D

The first wall is finally put together so all that's left is to fill gaps and make stones somehow.

You can see there are many gaps in between these castellations. I'm not very good at cutting those angles when putting pieces together.

More progress on the Easterlings and one of the captains.

I've decided to change the colours slightly. The cape will be white with the shirt being darker. We'll see if it works. :-D

Some close ups on the regular troops.

Now for some dwarf progress:

Some might remember a project I started some time ago on scratch building Sauron.
Well, not much has happened there but small progress has been made. :? Oh well.

And that's it for now. I'll keep you guys updated as I go. As usual. :-D

The castle is awesome, but I don't really like the white on the easterling sheilds. But they are your models so paint them up how you want :D

Thanks guys! :)

The walls are made from 10mm and 5mm foamboard. The black part is the 5mm and the white 10mm. I just followed the instructions in the Return of the King Journey book. :D The front of the "tower" in the middle is polystyrene foam cut from the provided template. Hope that helps! ;)

And here is another small update! :D

For this month's Paint Challenge, I have entered with Boromir with the Banner of the White Tower, (or something to that effect :? ) with six Knights of Minas Tirith.

And some progress on one of the Knights.

And my dwarf warrior is finally finished being painted. Now, for the base...

And there it is for you guys. Not much but I'm really proud of both these models. The Dwarf's eyes came out fantastically since the sculpt made the eyes ridiculously hard to do and the red on the Knight came out so well! It looks pinkish in the pictures but in real life, it's nowhere near that colour.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed! :-D
