Just picked a bunch of Anglo Saxon miniatures last weekend at Smoggycon and will be posting pictures here as I go. Progress will be very slow though as I'm at uni in my third year.
My collection to date includes:
King Alfred the Great (GB)
Anglo Danish Warlord (GB)
8 Anglo Danish Huscarls with Dane Axes (GB)
44 plastic Saxon Thegns (GB)
32 plastic Saxon Fyrd (WF)
GB = Gripping Beast.
WF = Wargames Factory.
I was inspired by a player at my local Gaming Club to base my figures on 2 Pence coins. That means I don't have to fret about where to find suitable bases, and best of all they're cheap.
First model (King Alfred) is 90% completed, just needs the shoes, leg wrappings painted, a transfer applied to the shield and the base needs doing. I'll post a picture soon, just waiting for my Camera to recharge.
Oh, and one final thing. This lot:
King Alfred the Great (GB)
Anglo Danish Warlord (GB)
8 Anglo Danish Huscarls with Dane Axes (GB)
44 plastic Saxon Thegns (GB)
32 plastic Saxon Fyrd (WF)
- cost me just under £50 (the plastic boxes were on discount by independent traders last weekend). Screw you Gamesworkshop.
King Alfred
