and it is sung that the axe smoked in the black blood of the troll-guard of Gothmog until it withered and each time that he slew Hurin cried 'Aure entuluva! Day shall come again!' Seventy times he uttered that cry; but they took him at last alive...

Just out of interest, how do you go about this? I can use nail varnish remover on metals, but any method I've heard of for stripping plastics, I've had at least one person say "No, never do that. I did it, and it dissolved my models."
"That's impossible, there's no such thing as trolls."
"Then how do you explain all the dead unicorns?"

I have used simple green which works but my new favorite is dawn power dissolve ( in the states, don't know what it is in the UK/EU). Paint comes off in a gummy sheet, so use hot soapy water to break it up or use a powered toothbrush. Works better than simple green in my experience. See my example here. In that example both were fully painted models which had been primed white.

Yea simple greens the best if you can get it, otherwise just fool around with whatever dettol or flash cleaners you can find! Stay away from stuff with bleach in it though, when im trying out a cleaner i just paint a bit of sprue or a broken model and chuck it in and see what happens! If it works its good!

Great, thank you both! I look forward to repainting many, many models.
