Hixont - The Army of the High King - Finished!!!

Postby hixont » Sat Jan 07, 2012 5:59 am

Isildur or two captains of Numenor. I'm undecided at this time.
20 Warriors of Numenor with shield
20 Warriors of Numenor with shield and spear
20 Warriors of Numenor with bow

600 points, mostly plastic. The only thing done to date is the assembly and converting of twenty swordsmen into spearmen.
==============
I got the warriors base coated. I also got a bit of chain started.

Can't wait to see how you paint them, always wished Numenor had more love from GW.

I'm still debating colour schemes. I'll have to watch the intro to The Fellowship of the Rings and take some notes. I'm not sure if I want a post-Isildur but pre-Arnor look or if I'm just going to stick to the film's depiction. I suppose if I want to use Elendil and/or Isildur with the force I should stick to the film look and feel.

Looking forward to how this turns out, always had a lot of time for Numenor!

Have you decided on a colour scheme yet?
Forces of Good - Rivendell, Lothlorien, Grey Company, Dol Amroth, Numenor, Minas Tirith and Rohan
Forces of Evil - Moria, Easterlings, Isengard and Mordor

I'm going with the movie scheme, which GW also followed in their source books. I haven't had much time to work on them. Mostly just got Isildur started and some archers. So my next update will be little more than my initial colour test models and the hero.

Luckily the Numenoreans are relatively easy to paint almost as simple as Gondor is.

Woah are they all metal? That would have cost a fortune!
Hmmm..... Still working on one of these

No, this force is actually 2/3rds plastic. I have a few that are all metal, but this isn't one of them.

I haven't had much headway on these so far. I have Isildur ready for detailing and shading/highlights plus a few archers that are nearly ready for shading/highlights and detailing. Work and family have eroded much of my free time lately. Hopefully I'll get more done this month.

I've managed to get some painting done despite life's little games occurring. Isildur and his captains are base painted. They just need shading, highlights and basing. All of the archers are now completed as well. Again they still need shading, highlighting and basing. I tend to get my base coats done on all the models before going onto the next stage.

I'm now working on getting the swordsmen painted and then the spearmen. I've also reorganized the force into the new Warband format.
